ABOUT

me under scary overhang.jpeg

Australian-based photographer, journalist,  and environmental documentary filmmaker.

Since graduating from the University of Manchester with a degree in zoology, I have dedicated my expertise to sharing the often complex and hidden world of zoology. I dove into freelance environmental journalism, writing pieces for clients that cover environmental stories tied to humans' inherent involvement, exploring our fading connection to the natural world.

My written work naturally evolved to grace the visual. Initially I borrowed cameras from friends, practicing and learning photography as I travelled on adventures, hitchhiking through eastern Tibet, dirtbag climbing in Europe, and surf driven road trips across oceania. I initially found a belonging to capture concealed hidden moments through landscape, nature, and candid photography. A hobby that blossomed into a beloved tool to help further tell my journalistic stories.

I aim to use my journalism and photographic narratives to reveal intriguing stories about our shared natural world, ultimately conveying her magnificence and mysteries that intertwine between the human and environmental spheres. I aim to deliver stories that dampen the confines between human and natural, which places us all as part of a shared ecological home with responsibility for understanding and respect.

I was awarded the 2026 Dahl fellow, partnering with eucalypt Australia to deliver my most recent project, Karlup: the story of fire in the south west. The visual storytelling project is a short documentary and photographic series exploring the urgent need to rethink prescribed burning in South Western Australia.
